The advantages of granite are unique beauty of the surface, excellent technical characteristics, unlimited practical use.
Granite is a type of felsic intrusive igneous rock. There are more than three dozen of minerals in its mineral structure basically feldspar, quartz, mica, and amphibole minerals.
Granite is currently known to exist only on Earth, where it forms a major part of the continental crust. Chemical composition also contains of at least 15 compounds, and by detailed consideration - much more.
Granites can be predominantly white, pink, or gray in color, depending on their mineralogy.
There are the following types of mineral and chemical compositions in natural granite:

• granite - contain from 10% to 65% plagioclase
• granodiorites and plagiogranites - plagioclase from 65 to 90%;
• granodiorite with a very low content of K-Na feldspars or without – more than 90%
• alkaline feldspar - less than 10%.

There are the following types of mafic rocks with the nature and number of components in the structure:

• alaskites - complete absence of mafic inclusions;
• leucocratic - in small amounts
• biotitic - with an average grade - from 6 to 8% of biotite
• two-mica - consisting of just two mafic mineral inclusions - muscovite and biotite;
• hornblende - with hornblende
• lithium fluoric - with dark various lithium mica
• pyroxene - consisting of both three mafic inclusions - quartz, augite, orthoclase
• alkaline - in the content of alkaline minerals: albite, aegerine, orthoclase, etc.

Characteristics of natural granite

• density - 2800 kg / m³
• water absorption - 0.2%
• hardness on the Mohs scale - 6-7
• abrasion - 1.4 g / cm
• specific weight - 2.7 g / cm
• compressive strength - 6046 kg / m³ (dry) and 5527 kg / m (in water-saturated state)
• hardiness - 25.

Granite is hard wearing, easy to clean, heatproof and above all a beautiful natural stone. It has a variety of uses including kitchen worktops, bathrooms, floor tiles, ornaments, vases, and fire surrounds and hearths.
